Ila's Kitchen

I owned the design, full-stack development, and deployment of Ila's Kitchen, an ecommerce platform for a food and spices brand. The project covers both the customer storefront and the admin tools the business uses to manage its catalog and fulfill orders.

The storefront supports product discovery, cart, and cash-on-delivery checkout across desktop and mobile. Customers can start shopping before signing in and keep their cart when they do. Authentication uses Better Auth with MSG91 for phone verification, alongside customer accounts for saved addresses and order history.

The admin dashboard gives the store control over products, pricing, delivery settings, and order fulfillment. Role-based access separates customer and admin workflows, while Resend handles order confirmations and status emails.

I built the data layer with Supabase PostgreSQL and Prisma, and used Cloudflare R2 for product images. Checkout validates prices and availability, prevents duplicate orders from repeated submissions, and preserves purchase prices when the catalog changes.

I added automated unit and integration tests covering core business rules and access controls. Playwright tests exercise customer checkout and admin fulfillment together, checking the ordering workflow across both sides of the application.

I implemented SEO metadata, product structured data, and sitemaps to help search engines discover the storefront, and optimized product images for faster loading. The application runs on Vercel, with Better Stack for uptime monitoring and PostHog for error tracking.
