Order Management is a solution that enhances daily dispatch operations, right from order capture to delivery, with the help of powerful automation.
Locus provides AI-powered supply chain optimization solutions that help businesses streamline operations and reduce costs.
The project involved the development and maintenance of a multilingual product, Order Management, using modern web technologies such as React, Redux, Material-UI (MUI), i18n, and Webpack.
This product scaled impressively from zero to 40 production clients within two years, processing over 8,000 orders daily.
A key achievement was reducing client-product integration time by 60%, which significantly streamlined onboarding processes for new clients. The scalability and efficiency of the product demonstrated its ability to meet high-demand requirements while maintaining robust performance.
Successfully migrated a monolithic codebase to a microfrontend architecture using the module federation technique, achieving a 60% reduction in hot reloading time and a 50% decrease in branch and deployment time.
A major feature implemented in the project was a barcode scanning workflow designed to optimize warehouse operations. This functionality allowed warehouse personnel to populate the user interface with order IDs, verify orders, and list up to 4,000 orders per session on the client side. By reducing the likelihood of processing incorrect orders, this feature contributed to a 30% decrease in errors, improving overall operational accuracy.
Designed and implemented key features such as 'Plan Order', 'Edit Order', 'Move Order', 'Add Order to Batch' and 'Request Quote' enhancing the overall functionality and user experience of the application. These features involved complex workflows, including geocoding for location-based operations, order timeline visualization, and multi-tab editing to improve user productivity.
Worked on advanced functionalities like inline editing, Excel export, and storing user column preferences in localStorage to provide a personalized experience. Implemented robust filtering, sorting, and search capabilities to streamline order management and improve data accessibility for end users.
Migrated the Geocoding feature from outdated React class components to modern React hooks, reducing tech debt and improving code efficiency.
Additionally, the order processing functionality in the user interface was enhanced to support the selection of five times more orders, enabling the system to process up to 500 orders in a single batch. This improvement significantly boosted order fulfillment speed and execution efficiency, addressing the growing demands of clients.
Beyond technical contributions, the project also involved code reviews, on-call responsibilities, and the maintenance of an internal UI library. Collaboration with designers and product managers ensured the product’s scope was refined effectively, while mentoring junior developers fostered team growth and knowledge sharing.
