Orchestration (now known as Shipflex), is a fleet management software to manage captive, contracted & outsourced fleets on a single platform.
Orchestration helps businesses in fullfilling orders during peak times, sudden surges in demand, and unexpected events by selecting trusted carriers for diverse fleets according to desired costs, SLAs and other constraints.
Orchestration also helps in managing the contracted, and outsourced fleets on a single platform. It is part of the suite of products offered by Locus.
The project was built using modern web technologies, including React, Redux, Material-UI (MUI), and Webpack. It was designed to efficiently handle up to 5,000 orders per day per client, ensuring scalability and reliability for high volume operations.
The project featured a dashboard layout that included an order list page and a detailed order page. The details page provided options for selecting carriers and displayed the timeline for order execution.
To enhance performance and ensure a smooth user experience, various React optimization techniques, such as useMemo, useCallback, and React.memo, were implemented to optimize components and reduce the overhead of expensive calculations.
The development process was streamlined by utilizing an internal UI library called Neo UI, which helped accelerate the workflow and maintain consistency across the application.
Beyond technical contributions, the project also involved code reviews and the maintenance of an internal UI library. Collaboration with designers and product managers ensured the product's scope was refined effectively.
